    About this playbook

Floorwork — the classic floor-trader pivot reaction.

    The rails

Floor-trader pivots are calculated once from the previous session’s high, low and close, giving a central pivot with support and resistance rails stepped out either side. They are the oldest levels in the business and they are still watched because so many people watch them.

The full pivot ladder auto-renders on your chart, so you can see exactly which rail the playbook is working against.

    Trading the touch

Floorwork arms while price sits above S1, then buys the first touch back down onto it — the level holding. The short is the mirror: armed below R1, it sells the first touch up into the level as it rejects.

Because the level is fixed before the session begins, the entry price is known in advance rather than chased.

    The settings that matter

The pivot reset hour decides which session the levels are drawn from — the default takes the prior New York session, the one most desks key off.

The entry cutoff keeps trades to the active part of the day, and the ATR stop multiple and target R:R shape the risk once a touch fires.
