Undertow — the swing-pivot stop hunt.
Undertow tracks confirmed swing pivots — the turning points that define a market’s structure, not merely the previous candle’s high or low. Resting orders pile up beneath a swing low, which makes it a pool of liquidity.
The pivots are identified with a deviation filter so that minor wiggles do not qualify. Only genuine structure counts.
The setup is a wick THROUGH the pivot that closes back above it. Price reached down, took the liquidity resting under the level, and was rejected — the stop hunt failing in real time.
Requiring the close back above is what separates a sweep from a genuine breakdown. Without it you are simply buying a market that is falling.
The zigzag deviation is the significance dial — how large a swing must be to count as structure. Raising it tracks only the major turning points; lowering it picks up smaller ones and trades more often.
The lookback sets how far back pivots are confirmed, and the ATR stop with a 2R target shapes each trade.
